Additional Drivers

Prepayment
Cash Rentals are not allowed.  All renters must have an Avis-honored charge card to rent a vehicle.

 

Travel Vouchers: are accepted.  Avis honored vouchers are accepted as payment only.  Renters must also present an Avis-honored credit card.


Debit Cards: are accepted with the following restrictions
    • Customer must purchase LDW and/or PDW
    • Two additional ID’s are required
    • Additional charge card hold will apply, see CID hold.


      
Taking your vehicle outside the Country
Not applicable. Cars are not allowed outside of the country.

 

Waiver and Protection Options
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)Purchase of CDW is optional.  CDW reduces the renter’s financial responsibility (NWE) Non-Waivable Excess in case of damage to the Avis vehicle, provided that the customer complies with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.  Theft protection is included with CDW with a non-waivable excess of 20% of the value of the vehicle rented.  Partial theft (accessories, parts, etc.) and theft which occurs due to customer’s negligence (not locking vehicle or securing keys) is not covered.  If the vehicle is declared a Total Loss by the insurance company, a non-waivable excess of 20% of the value of the vehicle rented will apply.
If CDW is declined, the renter is fully responsible for the full value of the Avis vehicle.

 

Damage to people and their property

Public Liability covers injury or death to a third party (persons outside the Avis vehicle). Property Damage covers damage to property other than the Avis vehicle and the renter’s, driver’s or passenger’s property.  The included coverage is up to 10,000.00 USD.  

 

Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)

ALI is mandatory and is included in the approximate total.  Purchase provides protection for third party liability in case of bodily injury and/or property damage to a third party (excluding the renter and/or driver of the Avis vehicle), up to a maximum of approximately 10,000.00 USD per occurrence with a deductible of 700.00 USD. 

Other coverages may be available.  Check at the counter for availability and additional details.

 

Fuel Charges
A full tank of gas is provided at the time of rental and the vehicle should be returned with a full tank of gas to avoid additional charges.    There are no refunds for unused gas.

 

Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection is available free of charge within the city of Managua.  Delivery and collection outside of Managua is on a request basis and subject to availability.  A fee will apply.  The customer must call in advance to make arrangements.

 

No-Show/Cancellation Policy
Reservations for all car groups will be honored for up to 2 hours after the reserved time or until closing, whichever comes first. A no-show fee does not apply.

 

Special Equipment
Child Infant Safety Seats
Child safety seats are available at a cost of 5.00 USD per day, the loss/damage fee is 250.00 USD.  Please advise of age and weight of child.  An advance reservation of 24 hours is recommended.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive

Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable. 

Disputes
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
